Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information ZaynCore, an educational platform for BTC 200 • Intro to Information Systems operated by Zawad Ibne Zafar Sadman, collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
- Account details from Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Your preferred name and your role (student, professor or admin).
- Learning activity: topics studied, saved items, quiz and simulation progress, study plans and reviews.
- Course data: section enrollments, assignments and completions, exam attempts, answers, scores and timing, team mission roles and grade records.
- Messages you send to the Zawad AI study assistant.
Guest mode and your device
- If you use ZaynCore without signing in, your progress is kept only in your browser's local storage on that device.
- When you sign in, ZaynCore may merge that local progress into your account.
- We use one essential cookie (session_token) to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To run your account, save your progress and personalize your dashboard.
- To let professors manage sections, assignments, exams, team missions and grades for their own students.
- To produce class insights such as the Classroom MRI and Grade GPS.
- We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Who can see your information
- Professors can see the progress, exam results, team activity and grades of students in their sections.
- Administrators can manage accounts and roles.
- Teammates can see the roles and membership of their own team.
Service providers
- Google sign-in is handled through Emergent's managed authentication service.
- Zawad AI questions and Classroom MRI summaries are processed by Google's Gemini AI model.
- Listen-aloud audio is generated by ElevenLabs from lesson text.
- Data is stored in a hosted MongoDB database.
Retention and your choices
- Account and course data is kept while your account is active or as needed by your course.
- You can change your preferred name at any time in your account page, and reset local progress on the Progress page.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data using the contact below.
Students and education records
- ZaynCore is intended for college students and faculty. It is not directed at children under 13.
- Where your school's policies apply to education records, we handle course data in line with those policies.
